who he is

Jeffrey "Jey" Bracco (born Gianfranco Randone)

Singer · Eiffel 65 · Bliss Corporation . Active 1998 to present.

Jeffrey Jey is the singing voice of Eiffel 65. He joined Bliss Corporation in 1998, six years after the label had been founded, when Gabry Ponte and Maury Lobina were looking for a vocalist for a project that would become the band. The first song they recorded together was 'Blue (Da Ba Dee)' and the rest of his life followed from that.

Born Gianfranco Randone, raised in part in Long Island and in part in Turin, Jeffrey wrote most of the English lyrics on Europop (1999) and Contact! (2001) and the Italian-language lyrics on the 2003 self-titled record. He is the reason a generation of European fans learned English a half-rhyme at a time, and the reason a generation of American kids briefly assumed Italian musicians sang in a slightly strange accent on purpose.

Inside Eiffel 65 he is the front-of-house: the voice on the radio, the face on the TV appearances, the lyricist. The forum knew this. His name turns up in fan signatures (the 'Randone' surname was borrowed by at least one regular as a stage name), and the birthday-countdown threads ran for him just as faithfully as they did for Gabry and Maury. He continues to perform with the reunited Eiffel 65 lineup that came together in 2010.
